Can Uterine Cramps Be The Symptoms Of Clot Passing?

My cycle ended 4 days ago, and I am now having a blood-tinged discharge when I wipe. I have not had sex in three weeks, but prior to that, my fiancé and I were trying to conceive. I am also having uterine cramps that I only feel when I'm on my cycle. They're usually a sign of a clot passing. What does this mean?

hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Intermenstrual spotting can be seen due to many causes, like :
- Ovulatory bleeding
- Hormonal imbalance leading to irregular shedding of endometrium
-Local causes like cervical polyps etc.
- Thyroid hormonal abnormalities etc.
So, if the spotting subsides and does not repeat no need to worry.
If the continues or recurs, once consult gynecologist and get evaluated.
In that case you may need physical examination, ultrasound, thyroid profile etc investigations.
With this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified and treated.
Uterine contractions are common during menstrual flow, need not associated with passing clot. Some amount of pain normal.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
