Can The Swelling And Drooping Of Eyes Be Reversed With A Change Of Medication?

I am a 57 year old woman, weigh 150 pounds, 5'6", in good health. I have been treated for Hashimoto's disease for the past 30 years with a low (.75 mg) dose of synthroid. I have noticed in the last few months that my eyelids are swollen and drooping, and see that is a sympton of Hashimoto's. Can the swelling and drooping be reversed with a change of medication?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concern

Please let me know the latest thyroid function tests.

If your thyroid function tests are normal, your symptoms are not going to better with changing the dose or type of thyroid medications.

Please consult a physician and make sure you are not suffering from myasthenia gravis - a condition with drooping of eyelids seen associated with hashimoto's disease
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
With warm regards,
Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM)
