Can The Fetus Be Protected From Congenital Syphilis If Mother Is TPHA Positive?

Hi Dr, I m 11 weeks pregnant and dignosed TPHA positive with 1:8 titre. I requested my dr to abort the baby since Im worried on the congenital syphilis. but my dr refused and put me on benzathine penicillin 3 doses. she said the baby can be proetected..do I have to go through c section later? shall I continue this pegenancy?

positive mother with TPHA is transmissible disease to fetus. fetus develops many congenital anamoly and usually abort itself .If mother is receiving penicillins injection then needs regular follow up with ultrasound to see any major fetal defect.now you wait and see.
