Thank you for using HCM! I carefully read your concerns and i do understand your problem. Hypothyroidism is a major cause of infertility. TSH 49 is very high and if i was your treating doctor i wouldn't recommend you to plan a pregnancy without confirming a normal TSH. After changing the dose of levothyroxine it takes 6 weeks to stabilise the TSH level. Is you increased your dose 7 weeks ago, now you in time to check the TSH level. For women who are planning a pregnancy TSH is recommended to be under 2.5. High levels of TSH are a not only a cause of infertility, but also a major risk factor for the physical and mental development of the fetus. It is very important to start a pregnancy with normal thyroid hormone levels. Hope i was helpful.
Kind regards, Dr.M.Guni
