General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
Nabumetone doesn’t fall under the category where abrupt discontinuation is a problem. No such effects have been documented so far for this drug. So, it can be discontinued but I suggest you take the opinion of the primary healthcare physician for proper substitute of the drug as an indication of use for this drug is not mentioned in the query. Although, the drug itself doesn’t have any withdrawal potential flare or return of the baseline symptoms of the underlying disease might be bothersome.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
