I had a friend that said she took 10 zopiclone pills. I found the empty bottle and the prescription or refill needs done by November 15. What should I do? Plus she said she took some tynelno with them. She fell asleep almost instantly when she got to my house. What do I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern for your beloved friend.
Incomplete data like age, gender, the dose of each Zopiclone pill?
Zopiclone is a hypnotic which is used to treat sleeping disorder (lack of sleep) it is prescribed in dose of 7.5 mg/tablet before bed time.

Your friend seems to have developed the features suggestive of over dosage of Zopiclone after consuming 10 pills.

It suppress the central nervous system and because of this, she has fallen asleep instantly. She may also develop slow breathing with accompanying shallow respiration which can be more dangerous.

So, take your friend immediately to the ER of the nearest hospital in your town for emergency treatment which may involve the use of a specific antidote Flumazenil which reverses central nervous system depressive effects of Zopiclone.

Since you did not mention about the exact number of Tylenol (Paracetamol) pills consumed, it can cause liver damage if taken in larger doses. She may need the specific antidote for Paracetamol induced liver toxicity i.e. Acetylcysteine as well.

Hope the suggestions given above could be of great help to you.
Regards.
