I am a diabetic type 1, I take lantus insulin at bedtime and humalog insulin before my meals. about 1 month ago, I started taking metformin along with my insulin. One year ago, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I was taking Tapazol, My blood work showed that I was in remission, and my Dr. told me to stop taking the medication. Since I started taking the metformin, My glucose levels have increased. I have not changed my eating habits, I am exercising etc. At the beginning of October, My Dr. took my tsh, free t3 free t4 and sent me a letter stating that
my levels are starting to rise again, The problem that I have, my pulse is running at 120 beats per min, I am very hot, and feel very shaky, I feel tense or something inside my body, I am very tired , I am still working full time. I can not explain that feeling very well. I am wondering if there is a connection with the metformin and being hyperthyroid? Any suggestions ? thanks Chaya
