Can Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck And Cold Cause Twitching In The Eye?
Hi I have flu like symptoms sore throat tired ect... my eye has also been twitching over the past few days and it is red now. That side of my neck has a lot of swollen lymph nodes. Could they be causing the nerve twitch in my eye or is that something different entirely?
Hello, Thank you for writing at HCM. Viruses (common cold) can cause many of your symptoms like sore throat, being tired and even red eye (as long as you have no pain in the eye and no vision changes) but the twitching seems unlikely to be related to it. Generally we get eye twitching when we are tired or anxious and are not related to flu like symptoms. Some common cold tablets might have pseudoefedrine which is an ingredient that activates many systems in our body and might cause irritability and might explain some of the eye twitching also if you are having oral common cold tablets. If you have no other neurological symptoms (no weakness, no numbness, no vision changes or difficulty breathing) I would just watch it for a few days. if the twitching goes on than I would recommend you to see a doctor. Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
