Can Sore Nipple With Drainage Be Herpes Again In A Patient Who Already Had Herpes Before?
Hi- I woke up yesterday morning to notice my left nipple was swollen. There was a tiny sore that almost looked like a bite mark or something not very serious. I didn't touch it and changed my clothing after I saw there was slight drainage. Over a year ago, I was diagnosed with herpes but I haven't had any outbreaks or symptoms since. The swelling has gone down almost completely but it's still sore and skin surrounding is looking pink. I can't help but wonder if this is related to the herpes because I'm pretty sure something similar to this happened during that time (same nipple). I hope I'm just being paranoid but I'm not too sure. Any idea?
Hi thanks for writing here.It seems you are having mastitis. It can be due to many causes such as infection, trauma etc.Hot fomentation with anti infammatory drugs will help in reliving swelling.Herpes does not present in this way and herpes paticularly zoster never relapses. It will be better to consult a doctor if swelling does not subside.Hope this will help you.Take care.
