Can Shortness Of Breath Be Related To Smoking?

Hi, I have been having continuous leg pain, shortness of breath, some heaviness in my chest. After very little exertion I sweat profusely. I don t know what s going on and unsure if I should head directly to the hospital or ignore it and it will go away. Could it be my lungs (I am a smoker) or my heart?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi dear,
Due to smoking your lung may get damaged and due to that you might have shortness of breath and sweating on exertion.
First of all do X ray chest which may be suggest some abnormality also do pulmonary function test to see lung capacity.
for treatment first of all you must quit smoking and then consult chest physician.
if not able to quit smoking by your self consult psychiatrist for quitting.
Thank you.
