Can Reddish Brown Mark After Fall Lead To Gangrene?
Hi I am sachin, My mother is 63 yrs old.Just 2 months back she fell on the floor and bottom portion of her leg got hurt. Its turned some what reddish- brown now.She is feeling numb over the affected area.I want to know whether it can cause Gangrene or something?
Dear Friend. Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern. Gangerene is usualy formed as a result of reduced blood supply to that area. A slight injury can not cause gangrene, if a patient is not a diabetic. I advise you to get her Blood sugars checked, and get her to a nearby doctor as what you are seeing can be: 1. Granulation tissue 2. Infective pus. An examination is required for that. If you wish you may send us the photograph of that area.
This is my best advise for you based on available details. Reply with answers of these questions preferably in point wise manner.
Stay Healthy.
