Can Pain Medicines Be Used For Snorting?

I have a friend who says he is sniffing pain meds for his back .He says if he swollows them he gets sick to his stomach.He has had a drug problem in the past but does have to do surprise urine drops and monthly drops at probabtion.Is he snorting pain meds or drugs. He snorts them in public and seems to not care if anyone sees.

You seem to have answered your own question, BUT several points.
Snorting will tend to get into the bloodstream faster than by swallowing. The drugs are not designed nor FDA tested for safety administered this way and while the drug is absorbed, not all the ingredients will dissolve correctly and can build up in the lung.
He is going to LOOk like a drug addict snorting pills. Unconcern about social appearances, using drugs in ways that might be harmful, etc are all signs of drug addiction.
If a drug has an effect, it is likely to have gotten into the blood and will go out in the urine and be every bit as detectable on drug testing regardless of route.
