Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently found out that I have zero motility after having manometry testing. I had nissen fundoplication 2 years ago after an 8 month bought with chronic coughing and aspirating into my lungs. I had no issue after the surgery until three months ago. I mostly choke and cough excessively after taking in liquids. I was tested for sclerederma and was negative. What could have caused this problem and what can be done to help me. My life style has been altered drastically due to this issue.
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
It is possible that you choke and cough during the procedure but if this persists after it then this is bit unusual I would say and you should do some tests to rule out possible pnneumonia or serious gastritis which may have been triggered with manometry.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
