Can Low Pulse Rate Hamper Progress Of Weight Loss ?

I have been dieting and exercising for several months and have lost 55-60 pounds. Over the past month the weight loss has really slowed, and also my pulse rate has dramatically dropped. My resting pulse rate is 45-50. I began at 315 and now am between 255-260. I am working with my doctor to regulate my meds, which should improve my pulse rate. Can this decreased pulse rate be responsible for the slowdown of weight loss?

No, slow heart rate doesnot lead to reduced weight loss. Actually body looses weight in a parabolic manner, highest in first few months, then with each months passed, the loss goes on decreasing with same physical activities or drugs. Its a defence machanism of body, to secure healthy living, and is farely fine.

Regarding your slow heart rate, the reason to it could be:
1. if you are taking some medications
2. regular exercise reduces the heart rate, and is physiological
3. Simultaneous heart problem

Consult Cardiologist or your primary physician to rule out the bad ones.
