Can Lisinopril Cause Pain In Legs?

I have had a violent reaction to my drugs. I think the culprit is lisinopril, since I recently went on a statin, atorvastatin and I believe the two in combo are deadly, I have severe pain in my legs and when I reach up, the pain shoots all the way through my buttocks up the sides of my back all the way to my shoulders. I cannot stand up when I get out of bed and have no bladder control. The pain first became severe in my lower back. I went off the cholesterol med, at once yet the pain continued. Today I asked my heart doctor to take me off the lisinopril and prescribe something different. Now I wonder, I am also on verapamil for arythmia. help! I may still be in trouble if I continue to take that unless I stay off atorvastatin forever.

Thank you for the query.
You haven't mentioned you age and gender. From the history that you have provided I assume that you are suffering from Hypertension, Dyslipidemia and cardiac arrythmia. I would like to know whether you are suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and your Body mass index.
Lisinopril belongs to the ACE inhibitors class of drugs. Common side effects are angioedema (swelling of lips and mouth), allergic reaction, dry cough, hyperkalemia and altered renal parameters. Atorvastatin can lead to deranged liver function tests and myopathy (muscle weakness, pain). Atorvastatin and Lisinopril are commonly prescribed medications for Ischemic heart disease or hypertension.
From the symptoms that you have provided, shooting pain through back and buttocks, difficulty in standing up and loss of bladder control, it seems more to be a lumbar radiculopathy (degenerative disc disease). I would ask you to consult your physician as soon as possible. You may need an imaging of your spinal cord, to rule out the problem. I would also ask you to get your Potassium, liver function test and CPK levels done (to rule out lisinopril or atorvastatin related side effects)
Hope this helps you out.
