Can Itching And Numbness In The Lower Back And Waist Line Be Related To Sciatic Nerve Or Shingles?

I have been having what I thought was sciatic nerve pain on my right side. Yesterday my lower back and waist line are on that side started itching and went numb. It's still itching and numb. Does this sound like nerve issues or early signs of shingles?
