Can Inhaler Usage Cause Problems In Pregnancy?

Hi, I'm 22 years old and 12 weeks pregnant . I am severely affected with allergic bronchitis. My doctor adviced me not to take any drugs and now I'm using an inhaler. Still my condition is not that better and I experience wheezing during night time. My relatives say that my baby also will get these wheezing troubles. Is it true doctor? I'm greatly worried.. Please give me a solution..

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
Inhaler medication is safer for mother & baby both, Inhalers provide very small amount of the drug that acts at the local( lungs) level, So there are no side effects on other parts of mother's body/ baby ( in pregnancy)
For the weezing trouble you have ,
- adjustment of inhaler puffs,
- avoiding allergens,
- treatment of infection are needful.
Please consult a chest physician for proper guidance.
Thanks.
