Can I Stop Using Doxycycline As It Upsets My Stomach?

I am taking doxycycline and spironolact - something, both medications prescribed by a dermatologist. I have noticed that I the doxycycline upsets my stomach and causes me to feel naseau and pain. I don't know if I want to continue this process just to clear my acne. It's not worth it. My question is: can I stop using it?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Doxycycline is usually given to moderate grade acne. However, if it is causing gastric upset, you could stop it. An alternative antibiotic is azithromycin which is given as weekly pulses. It also could cause gastric side effects. If you cannot tolerate, you could continue with topical medications alone.
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
