Hi Doctor... Am hypothyroid which was diagonised only few months back.. Recently i have been TTC so this month i missed my period(i never miss my period though am stressed) its been 5 days so i went for home pregnancy test this morning but it showed negative. am concerned whether hypothyroidism can cause low HCG level? please clarify me on this.
Thyroid levels do not have any effect on HCG levels in your body. aBut during pregnancy HCG can stimulate thyroid gland and increase thyroid hormone levels. I'd recommend that you if you do not get your periods in next few days, repeat home pregnancy test and follow up with your doctor.
Hope I was able to help you Please address further questions/concerns Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
