Can Hydro S Cause Detrenritive Discs And Stenosis?

Hi, I have been taking hydrocodone 5/500 2 tabs twice a day from 1/17-1/23. I took for 8 days, then stopped didn t need anymore. I became anxious and low grade depression since stopping. Back in August 2013 I was on Oxycodone 10/325 6 pills a day. Stopped cold turkey, took 2 weeks of misery. By late Sept I finally felt normal. Any reason why the hydrocodone would cause this reaction after only 8 days? I was on the Oxy s for a couple years until I quit in August. It s sucks I have 3 Detrenritive, discs, and stenosis, scared to have surgery, afraid I will end up worse, any thoughts as to why the hydros would cause this?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello

I have studied your case
This is not reaction to hydrocodone.

Due to compresion of nerve root in spine there can be radicular pain .
I will advise to do MRI spine to see for disc bulge.

Neurotropic medication can help to reduce symptoms.
Physiotherapy will help to get pain relief.
Surgical Decompression will give permanent relief.
Wish you good health

Take care.
