Can Ear Canal Infection With Drainage Be Treated With Antibiotic Ear Drops?

my 13 year old daughter has a hard painful round lump on her left mastoid. she has a history of cholesteatoma which was removed about 6 years ago in the ear on her left side. she recently had an ear canal infection with drainage, which was treated with antibiotic ear drops. what could this lump signify?

Swelling over mastoid is not normal

Local part examination is needed here to rule out whether it is enlarged lymph node or infective swelling from mastoiditis

According to cause further specific treatment given

Here if oral and local antibiotic can't resolve swelling and symptoms ongoing than local x ray and if needed MRI like investigation done

If antibiotic not working than for mastoiditis surgical exploration is necessary

Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination and further work up
