Usually a medicine that has worked earlier for you in treatment of depression will work again for you. So there is reason for you to be optimistic. You may expect it to work as well as first time.
Even if it doesn't work as well as first time, your doctor has many options including adding another medicine to augment the effect of Venlafaxine.
Hope this answers your question.
