Can Daktarin Be Used For Balanitis In Infants?

Hi I think my 14month old has balanitis he has had it before the doctor has said its ring worm but I am certain it's not it's it's not even in rings it's just an all over rash I have checked for memengitis and I know it's not the doctor gave me daktarin can I still use it some sites say I can thanks

Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i share your concern.
An infant with balanitis, should be confirmed with a pediatrician or Urologist.
Daktarin is used for oral fungal infections or inside mucosa of mouth/ throat.
Self-medication is risky and can cause side-effects.
Ring worm infection is caused by Tinea worms.
It appears as rashes, and not in rings as you believe.
