Can Convulsions And Inability To Speak Clearly With Meningitis Be Treated?

My 8years old son had got meningitis at the time of birth. He was prematured delivered as a normal. He got every thing delayed such as all milestones. At the age of 2 1/2 years he started convulsion. After that he gets convulsion approximately 5times per year. He is getting the dose of Valparol @ 5ml morning -evening. He is physically strong, but unable to speak clearly. He tries a lot. By brain, he is sharp. He is not a dull boy. Kindly help me :- 1. Will he speak like a normal boy ?

2. Will he work as normal brain ?

3. Is there treatment of his problem at CMC or not ?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking. I would like to know whether your child have learnt walking at normal age? does he have spasticity? What does his MRI say? If he is trying to speak and there is clarity issues it will improve with speech therapy. If his IQ is normal then he may be able to function normally. He may get his IQ assessment done.
