Can cholesterol be controllable ?

Hell: recently I am being diagonosis of high cholesterol? I started to eat 0 fat and 0 cholesterol food. I started exercise too. I eat only vegetable, rice (litle aount), fruits and 0 fat foods. Is it possible to control cholesterol? up what percentage might go down, roughly, if you have an idea? Please give an advise to follow a good way to do that. I am a student and age 38. Thanks AH

You don't have to eat 0 fat foods. Here's a tip, go on a Mediterranean diet. Nuts, Veggies, Olive oil, chicken....my Cholesterol dropped like crazy (from 220 total to 148). Also...exercise....I work out 4-6 days a week. Bike, walk, cross train, whatever you like - just move.

Soo i used to run on the tredmil(2.5-3 miles,450-550 calories burned) usually everyday. But now I am doing swim team at my highschool. We do dryland for 15 minutes(pushups,situps,jumping jacks,etc.) and swim for an hour(swimming laps,all strokes,over 50 laps a day) am i burning more calories by swimming? I still run but only saturday and sunday-when i don t have swimming because my mom said it s too much. I also do pilatees everyday for 30 minutes. Am I burning more,less,or the same?! thanks(: btw: i am 5 3 and weigh 100lbs and i m a female!

47 years old been diagnose with spinocerbellar ataxia (2006) after getting mri my neuro has since tranferred to another state. records transfer to another neuro that took over her patients. Its been four years symptoms have not change which are muscle weakness, problems seeing clearly, poor muscle coordiHnation with shaky movements, especially climbing stairs, inability to walk. I have a yeraly checkup in june which was last checkup explain to neuro i didn t have any problems until after the birth of my son whom was premature and I develop per-eclampsia so he check my vitamin e levels the results was a 27 could this be my problem what is the range for vitamin e levels. He sent me back to my family doctor to be put on a regimen, but he perform a dexa scan,mammogram, check my thyroid he perform everything but except what i went for was told by him older adults usually have vit e defeciency, but he said my chlorlesterol was high was perscribe simvastatin 20 mg. what kind of docotr do i need to see....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Good day sir. I have high level of uric acid and high levels of liver blood enzyme results for both the SGOT and SGPT . I am taking Godex ds(once a day) and Cenovis fish oil (once a day). Do these medicines have no complication on each other? Sir, I have also a high of level of bad cholesterol on my blood that s why I take Cenovis fish oil.

No evidence of solid or cystic masses Intraheptic biliary radicles appears normal Gall bladder is normal.No evidence of gall stones. Pancreas is normal in size and echotexture Spleen is normal in size and echotexture Both kidneys are normal in size and echotexture with normal parenchymal thickness and normal collecting system. No evidence of renal calculus or hydronephrosis or focal lesion. Urinary bladder is normal. No evidence of calculus. Prostrate is normal in size and echotexture. No free fluid in thev pelvis. Blood test: Cholestrol 191 mg/dl Triglycerides 180 mg/dl HDL cholestrol 42 mg/dl, LDL cholestrol 113 mg/dl VLDL cholestrol 36 mg/dl, T-CHOL./HDL-CHOL 4.5 mg/dl LDL-chol / HDL chol 2.6 mg/dl, Urea 26 mg/dl, Creatinine 1.1 mg/dl Billirubin total 1.1 mg/dl, Billirubin direct 0.4 mg/dl, Billirubin indirect 0.7 mg/dl, SGPT 180 IU/L & urine analysis is also normal. Kindly advise what could be the reason for the same.

Im suffering from salivery glands swelling since 2 months but not much visible but blocked ears and difficulty in swollowing is making me with short breath as if with high pulse. Im having slight.
