Can Anyone Forget Recent Activities After An Head Injury?

I recently have been forgetting what I want to say and several months ago I had dropped something on my kitchen floor. When I went to stand up I hit the top of my head on my granite counter...that really hurt. The pain went away but some times I feel tenderness in the area where I hit my head.Would this be the reason I forget?

Hello,

Forgetfulness can develop due to various causes like injury on the head, vitamin B 12 deficiency, side effects of certain medications, hypothyroidism, alcoholism, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get X-Ray, CT, MRI, blood workouts done to detect any minor, major or internal head trauma. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, avoid stressful lifestyle, anxiety, take plenty of sleep, get any chronic disease treated.

Stay physically and mentally active and socialize regularly. Take food good for memory (nuts, poultry, berries, beans, whole grains, food rich in vitamin B12 and vitamin E), etc. Take the help of physiotherapy, CBT , Talk therapy and various combined therapies are effective. Get treated. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
