Hello, my husband and me are very worried about a chronic candidiasis in his anus and genital area for quite long now, and nothing seems to work.
All started about 6 months ago when he finished a treatment with very strong antibiotics that he has to take for a long period of 5 months to treat a tb micobacteria. After the treatment, this redness in his genitals started to appear, and itchiness, and the condition start to go up through the rectum. The dr. recomend to take fluconazole and apply canesten cream, low carb diet free of sugar and he control it for 3 months, with high dosis daily (450mg), but in the moment that he stopped or reduce the dosis, the condition come again. So he continue with high fluconazole dosis for 3 months more, but now we are worried about his liver function, he tested and is not too bad, but the results show that the liver is uner stress. We think that after 6 months taking high dosis of fluconazole and no result, this ant-fungal is not the answer, so he stop now to take it, but the condition now is worse, now he grows pustules all arund anus, rectum, penus, testicules, is more painfull and itchy that ever.
He has been tested for HIV aswell 3 times all this period, and is negative (and there is no reason to get different result), and all this time he has continue a very strict diet without sugar.
I decide to write all this here because any doctor has found any solution for his condition, and we are very worried indeed. Thanks a lot for any advice.
