Can a tooth pain resulting after root canal cause hip pain ?

I m a 57-year old very healthy female: Nine months ago, I had a root canal on my beautiful front tooth. The dentist prescribed no antibiotic (which puzzled me) and since then a nagging low-grade pain has persisted. In addition, out of nowhere my right hip joint is in constant pain. I recently heard a friend say that the tooth could have caused the hip pain! Is there any truth to that?! Please Help! Paula in Memphis

Hello Doctor, I am Sagar, age:26, gender:male. I had recently visited a dentist to get my lower molar tooth ckecked after i experienced some sort of sensitivity while taking food. Dentist told me that the pulp is exposed and root canal treatment is necessary. He drilled my tooth, pierced in there about ten different sharp pins, cleansed it with a number of solutions, stuffed medicated cotton and asked me to visit after two days. Now i am experiencing pain in my tooth and also i have developed a pain in my chest at the center. Is there any connection between the two? I am really worried. Kindly take time from your busy schedule and reply. Thank You.

i was having much pain in a tooth that had had a root canal - no crown. went to dentist. received 12 lortab and a z-pak and was told the tooth was split and could not be saved. he referred me to an oral surgeon. this was friday, 8/24 @ 12:00 noon. i just took my last lortab with extra strength bayer (2) and my last antibiotic pill. the pain has increased - beyond anything close to what it was friday and there is now a huge puss pocket that has formed above the tooth on the gum. my consultation with oral surgeon is tomorrow at noon. why am i still in pain? why have i developed this abcess if i have been on strong antibotics. how should i proceed. i m desperate here....

my root canal procedure is going on since from 12 days. at first stage doctor has given me anesthecia and performrd the procedure of root canal. the after that same procedure is carried out on same tooth 3 times without anesthecia. and every time my tooth is filled with cotton. but the problem is my tooth has pain while I take my meal and chew the food ( food taken is not very hard ). the tooth starts paining a lot and after 3 to 4 hours pain stops automatically. what might be the reason??? is there still infection in my tooth???? because my doctor said that next time he will permamantly fill my tooth. hence i am hesitated.

I was released from the emergency room on Friday - unable to walk with shooting pains down the front of my calves - body will freeze in position and right arm will turn into a claw- I breathe and then I am able to walk. The longer the distance from car to back of dept. store all mobility stops. Blood pressure is irregular and increases with pain. Right outer leg is numb - excessive fatigue. Joint pain in ankles in am throbbing pain in arms this is intermittent. Memory is as if I no longer have a filter for my thoughts. Right leg spasmed for about 30 seconds for no reason. Have been having balance issues in the past and dizziness - walk to right of wall. Also within the last 2 weeks all is getting worse. When fatigued I walk as if I am 90 years old. I am a 48 female non-smoker. I have been to numerous doctors - all test come back normal and they comment this is interesting but have no idea what is wrong with me. I have constant pain in my hip region - very tight. At the emergency I had a CAT scan and full blood work all is normal. I had a shooting pain in the back under the left shoulder blade which caused blood pressure to elevate to 212/110 as the pain subsided so did the blood pressure. I check blood pressure daily usually around 132/78 or lower. If I am in pain the blood pressure goes up. Any suggestions?? Denise
