Can A Pregnancy Test Be Negative After Delayed Menstruation?

I am 39. Stopped taking my birth control pills in August. Sept period was 8 days late. October was exactly 28 days being my last period October 22nd. I am now 15 days late. I have taken a pregnancy test 3 days ago which was negative. I have had nothing but back aches for the last two weeks however The last two days i have been also getting contraction like cramps in my stomach. Almost like Braxton Hicks. (I have had 2 kids) but still no sign of period. THoughts?

1. Since birth control pills are form of contraception which help prevent ovulation and change the uterine lining thus after stopping them it will take your body to adjust to the natural/normal menstrual cycle and since pregnancy test came negative even then confirm again, consulting with gynecologist
PS. It is possible to become pregnant just a few days after you stop taking birth control pills so check with your doctors for any questions/concerns

. Tablet Regesterone (Norethisterone) 1 tab twice daily for 7 days. If there is no withdrawl bleeding, then

. Take Ovral-G for 21 days (estrogen + progesterone). If there is no withdrawl bleeding after this course, then ask a gynecologist to rule out any underlying pathologies

2. Anxiety/stress related with missed period is also a factor for the same, so stay calm and practice relaxation technique
