Can A Chemical Imbalance During Pregnancy Affect Baby?

Hi my names Dana I m 22 years old and have 3 year old twins I just found out I m 5 weeks pregnant and immediately stopped taking all my medications about a week ago cold turkey, I was on Zoloft, trazadone, and klonopin, I was recently hospitalized a few months ago and diagnosed with bipolar type 2, PTSD, Depression, panic attacks, and ADHD. Since I stopped taking my medication I ve been very irritable, dizzy, lips tingling, can feel my pulse radiating through my body every few minutes and most importantly extremely stressed and feel like I m going to lose it I thought that not taking my meds was doing the right thing for my unborn baby but I m beginning to think otherwise, so my question is can a chemical imbalance cause harm to my baby this early in pregnancy or cause miscarriage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello ma'am and welcome.

A chemical imbalance cannot cause harm to your baby, if you are indicating the chemical imbalance in your brain that is causing the symptoms. You are a bold and strong woman, who is selfless and you deserve the best in life. I would still recommend a doctors consult who will help you by guiding you through this difficult phase.

If you could show this response to your husband, please tell him that I strongly recommend truck loads of love and support for you, to help get you through this. God is with you and your unborn child already places you after god.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
