Can Zoloft Effect Pregnancy Test?

I am on Lo Loestrin FE and generic brand of zoloft. I am a week and a half late for my period. I have been sick to my stomach. I took 3 pregnancy test. The first one was a fated positive, the other two were negative. My question is, could the zoloft that I am taking make a false negative and actually be pregnant?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

There are many influencing factors for a false-negative home pregnancy test. Some times peeing on your stick too early can cause the test to come negative, and one of the most common causes I have noted is conducting the test using a urine sample mid day or later. The best sample is an early morning urine sample as this is most concentrated and will provide accurate results. Medications like zoloft can interfere, but I doubt they can cause a false-negative.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
