Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. If you are suffering from nerve pain, tramadol might not be as effective since its a different class of narcotic type pain releiver. You might want to discuss use of Gabapentin or Lyrica with your pain doctor to give you relief from nerve pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Samuel Parmar
