Can Primolut-N Affect Pregnancy?
Hi Team, I have taken 8 Primolut tablets for delaying my period. But, later it has been confirmed that I am pregnant. Could you please help me in providing suggestions as on what steps needs to be done to check if feotus is fine and no abnormalty is there? Moreover I remember the tablets as Primolut but not Primolut N.

Primolut N tablet contains norethisterone which is used to treat various menstrual problems like painful, heavy or irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and a condition known as endometriosis. Before giving Primolut N, it is necessary to test for pregnancy as it is not allowed to be consumed during pregnancy. Actually they do affect on your fetus according to some studies, that is birth defect, though the chance is pretty small.
Many women have delivered normal and healthy baby even after taking tablet Primolut N. So, one can continue with pregnancy but it will be necessary to undergo periodic, regular ultrasound test at every month interval to monitor the development of the baby, as an abundant precaution. Consult gynaecologist and get done anamoly scan at 4 months.
