Can Ibuprofen Be Taken While On Benazepril And Simvastatin?
My husband accidentally took his amlodipine/Benazepril 5/10mg & Simvastatin 20mg again this evening. He takes 1 qam. He went to get Ibruprofen and took those again. He took them at 5:45 am and just now. Any issues we should be concerned with & can he still take ibruprofen?
You shouldn't worry too much about an extra-dose of amlodipine/ benazepril as far as your husband's blood pressure is within normal ranges and no underlying clinical symptomatology is present (weakness, dizziness, lightheadedness, etcetera due to hypotension).
In addition, although that extra-dose your anti-hypertensive medications are within therapeutic doses. Ibuprofen, in general, exerts an opposite effect leading to high blood pressure trends. It is safe to continue taking his scheduled Ibuprofen dose, despite the extra-dose of amlodipine/benazepril.
You just need to closely monitor his blood pressure values frequently to be sure no hypotension appears. It is recommended to maintain good hydration by taking plenty of fluids and avoiding strenuous physical exertion during the subsequent hours.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
