Can I Take Percocet, Norco, Valium And Tramadol Before Laminectomy For Curing Herniated Discs?

My name is Patricia - Sept 30th I hade an ACDF c3-C7 with a corpertomy at C6 In the beginning the surgeon had me on Oxycontin, 12 hour, Oxycontin every 4 hrs, Percocet every 4 hrs, Norco every 6-8 hrs and Valium as needed - he wanted me at zero pain for the first month - I was fine with this then actually wanted to get off the addictive meds as soon as possible - I wanted to jump down to Tramadol but the orthopedic said that was 4 levels down and too fast - he has reduced me down 1 5mg norco every 6 hrs - I am taking 1 1/2 5 mg Norco every 5-6 hrs and can t seem to get beyond this point without having a pain level of 8 happening. I am going to be needing a laminectomy aswell he said according to the MRI and CT Scan - I have some herniated discs there aswell. But trying to give the body some time to heal before addressing that surgery. I am careful that I do not do too much and do my excercises and wear the bone stimulator - the weather (cold) and dampness ansd barometer seems to play a large part in the pain level. When can I expect to be pain free or at least down to a 4 or below most of the time. How long should I wait between major surgeries - this surgery took 7 1/2 hrs as the herniated disc he said had been imbedded in my lamina for probably 40 years. I hope I have given you enough infomation for some answers and thank you so much. Patricia My address is YYYY@YYYY and again thank you for your help and information - before this usually two aspirin handled anything I had

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I carefully red the history given here and I would say that you need to reduce your dose of pain killing medicine gradually in tapered manner, this will reduces the chances withdrawal, and also will reduce the requirement, and it will be fine soon may take little long time but for sure this will be fine soon have nice day.
