Can Dolopar Have Any Effect On My Memory?

Hello Doc., I use dolopar (only 1 tablet) whenever I get severe headache..I try to avoid taking this pill by using pain boom first before I take this pill...this happens once in a month or whenever I take head bath... My question is...I have been using this pill for so many years now...will it have any effect on my memory?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It has no negative effect on memory. Dolopar (Paracetamol) is commonly used for the relief of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, colds, influenza, joint pain and fever. Generally, it is well tolerated by most of our patients, however its common side effects include nausea, vomiting, allergic reactions. In larger doses, it may cause liver injury. There is no study which shows its negative effect on memory if taken for many years in the recommended therapeutic doses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
