Bruises, Swelling With Radiating Pain On The Knees. X-ray Is Normal. Anything To Worry?

Tripped and fell two days ago and landed on my knees. One knee is bruised, and the other has swelling along with sensitivity to touch with radiating pain. I took an X-ray today and it didn't show anything. They said it was just bruised, but it hurts differently then the one that is just bruised. Could something else still be wrong?

Hi,

Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic!

Knee joint is very complicated structure composed of variety of structures like tendons, menisci, ligament, tiny cartilages etc. X ray cannot precisely visualize the pathology of all these things.

If the pain is persisting and as you mentioned sensitivity to touch with radiating pain, you may also need investigations like MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.
