Bruise On Left Buttock After Fall, Pain Radiating Towards Left Thigh. Suggestions?

I fell down the stairs some years ago, I had a bruise on my left butt a few days after and I didn t consult any doctor coz I just had bruises and I can still manage to walk or bend without any difficulty...I had pain for just a few weeks because of my bruises and wound on my left leg. But now, I think for almost a week I can feel the pain deep down my butt I don t know where it is exactly and it radiates down my left thigh I think the pain radiates my muscle s leg.. And it really bothers me now. Can you help me please and what should I do? thank you.

hi
Welcome to health care magic!
Bruises and pain are very common during a fall and usually last for several weeks to a month.Since You are able to walk and bend I do not think that you would be suffering from any serious injury.
However a pain which radiates down the thigh might suggest a nerve involvement. This could be secondary to injury to bone.
You may try 1)hot fomentation over the area with a hot water bag2)pain killers3)rest to your leg
I would suggest that if your pain persists without showing any sign of resolution it would be helpful to see an orthopaedic doctor who may put you thru a few simple tests to rule out any injurty to the nerve. He may also suggest an xray and other tests in case he feels its necessary.
Hope this helps!
