Brown discharge from stool, gel like substance, mucus like. What is it?
hi im a 17 female and lately i have been having this gel like subtances that has a light brown color coming out when i poop, sometimes i have the need to go to the bathroom and once when i had this need all that came out was this gel like substance, is it a normal thing to happen? is this the mucus that help the poop pass out of my body?

hello! Yes it is mucus which is normally there and which help in evacuation of the stool smoothly. However if it is associated with other symptoms like rectal urgency or blood in stool or abdominal pain, then only it may require attention.I hope this will help you. keep in touch
