Breathing Test Still Positive After Being Treated Twice For H.pylori. Stopped Medicines. Suggestions?

I have been treated twice for the bacteria (h. pylori), taken the second breathing test a month after treatment and still test positive. Is there anything else..the Dr. treating me said that there is no need to treat again with those same meds because they didn't work for me....why is this? He has me on a waiting list for any new rx that may come out. Is there anything that I should do in the meantime?

Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is a Gram-negative, microaerophilic bacterium found in the stomach.

It is linked to the development of duodenal ulcers and stomach cancer. However, over 80 percent of individuals infected with the bacterium are asymptomatic and it has been postulated that it may play an important role in the natural stomach ecology.More than 50% of the world's population harbor H. pylori in their upper gastrointestinal tract.

An increasing number of infected individuals are found to harbor antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This results in initial treatment failure and requires additional rounds of antibiotic therapy or alternative strategies, such as a quadruple therapy, which adds a bismuth colloid, such as bismuth subsalicylate.

Alternatively , Taking lactic acid bacteria containing supplements like prebiotic or pro biotics exerts a suppressive effect on Helicobacter pylori infection , supplementing with Lactobacillus-and-Bifidobacterium-containing yogurt (AB-yogurt) was shown to improve the rates of eradication of H. pylori.

I suggest you to talk with your doctor about the methods i have discussed above and only then you proceed with it , since Iam suggesting you online without any physical check-up and with unknown medical history , I recommend you to do so.

Wishing you a good health,
Dr.G.Gayatri Devi.
