Body Pain, Chills, Pain In Joints. Suffering From Vitamin Deficiency. Had Respiratory Infection. Reason For Body Pain?

Hi, my mother was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection, pneumonia, and the flu about a month ago. Since then she has been healed of that but suffers with body aches everyday. Chills but no fever. She hurts so much in her joints. She is also b12 deficient and lacks vitamin d. What could be some of the reasons for this??

Hi,

Some of the viral infections which present as flu can cause prolonged joint and body pains. If she was my patient, as she is having associated chills, I would order tests to exclude malaria and also certain investigations to rule out joint disorders like Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis(depending on her age)

Take Care!
