Blood Test Shows Elevated White Count, Platelets. Had Breast Cancer. Problem?
I had a blood test done on Tuesday. The nurse called and wants to have another blood test done next Tuesday. The results of the first blood test showed I have elevated white count and elevated platlets. I'm not sure what this means. I had breast cancer two years ago. I'm really worried about this problem and by reading the internet it's not helping.
hi, elevated white blood count indicates increased proliferation of fighting cells which commonly occur due to the infection. even platelets are increased due to infection, tumors etc. may be your doctor is contemplating on tumor recurrence. talk to your doctor regarding this.
Hi and welcome to Healthcare magic.Thank you for the query. It usually isnt indicating anything srius. It may be sign of any infection in your body or it can be found in healthy people if there is just slgth elevation. Rarely it can indicate some more serious hematological disease, but you can know it after more detailed tests. Wish you good health. Regards
