Blood Filled Blister On The Thumb Joint. Have Arthritis. Pain In The Joints. Concerned

I have what looks like a blood blister (doesn t hurt and no injury caused this) over my thumb joint where I have been told I have arthritis . I used my thumb a lot yesterday and this spot appeared last night. The joint hurts a lot this morning. This has happened once before. What causes this and should I be concerned?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
This may be due to some haemorrhage in the joint.
It will be better to consult your doctor and get a check up .
Recurrent collection of blood in joint may need a haematological work out to rule out a bleeding disorder.
