Bleeding In Early Pregnancy. IS There A Risk For The Fetus If There Is Perisac Bleeding?
Hi my name is fmm, I'm 8 weeks pregnant at 5.4 weeks I had a tvs the scan result was fetal pole is there gestational sac is healthy and cardiac activity is also appreciated but there was a perisac heamorrhage aswell of size 8mm by 5mm and since last week when I used to wipe a brownish red spot came on tissue. Yesterday I had a pad full of fresh blood and passed only one clot after that no spotting or bleeding. I'm already on pregnancy support injections. Please can you help me and tell wether the perisac bleed and the baby is fine? At my scan I was told I will have bleeding. My scan is due today
Bleeding in pregnancy generally is not a good symptom and should be treated with extreme caution. You are having a threatened abortion; there are several causes of threatened abortion including progesterone deficiency, foetal chromosomal abnomalities, strenous physical activity etc.
You need to do a progesterone level test or at least be put on progesterone and you need absolute bed rest and avoid stress.
However, in cases of chromosomal abnomalities, an abortion will be inevitable.
Hope this helps you. Best regards Dr Achuo
