Bitten By Pit Bull On Right Leg. Large Hematoma Is Healing But Top Of Wound Is Very Sensitive And Bottom Is Numb. Cure?

I was bitten by pit bull about two months ago on front of right leg. Large hematoma is healing but top of wound is very sensitive and bottom is numb. Top sometimes feels like needles sticking me. Will it get feeling back...will it hurt more as swelling goes down. I went to er right after bite and follow up with my doctor. They say is healing ok. I not sure.

Hello,
Thanks for writing in.
Your doctor is correct.
The wound healing is in progress.
There is tissue repair taking place and the small nerves are being stimulated. This is the reason you are experiencing pins and needles sensation.
Take care.
