Bitten By An Insect, Area Raised, Hot, Painful. No Improvement With Benadryl, Hydrocortisone Cream. Can Use Prednisone?

My daughter thinks she was bit by a mosquito last night but it looks more like a spider bite. There is a definite raised area where the bite occurred. The area around the bite has grown to almost a baseball circumference and is red, hot and painful. I have given her 50 mg Benadryl PO and used Hydrocortisone cream to the site without any signs of improvement. I have oral prednisolone here at home and am wondering if I should use it. We can not get into our pediatrician until after 3pm tomorrow. Also considering urgent care tonight yet. There is no red streaking up or down the leg.
