Being Months Post Partum, Breast Feeding. Feeling Tired, Legs Hurt. Is This Normal?
My daughter is almost 2 months post partum, she is breast feeding not getting a lot of sleep very independent and refusing a lot of help told me today she is so tired that her legs hurt. Is this normal? i am here for her but refuses my help more times than she should. As a mother I want to be there for her but I also want to give her, her independence. Should she get a check-up for the leg aches??? I know she is not eating as well as she should.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vidya KR's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
During post portum period she needs rest, healthy food, and moral support. its better to avoid strenuous work, heavy weight lifting as her abdominal muscles will be weak needs to gain strength. Leg pain could be due to dehydration, vitamin deficiency, calcium deficiency. Advice her to take lot of fluids, protein supplements. If pain is severe and more with muscle movements you may need doppler to rule out DVT.
Consult your doctor for examination and management. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr. Vidya
