Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.
Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query
there are two basic ways to reduce weight. One is to control diet and the other is to exercise.
Now there should be no issues as far as diet control is concerned. A good diet control after all is also important as far as
diabetes is concerned also. So diet which is around 2000-2400 calories may be good for you. Of course you need to discuss this with the treating diabetician too since I am not aware of the sugar control in your case. besides height and weight also alter the required daily calory intake.
As far as exercise is concerned, you could always try non weight bearing exercises like cycling and swimming. They are two very good exercises and not only that help burn a lot of calories. Being non weight bearing, they are quite easy for your joints as well. So I would definitely recommend these two exercises
Also, from the query, I am not clear what are the medicines you are taking for diabetes, and maybe for other illnesses. do discuss them with your doctor because many of these tablets have a weight increasing effect also.
I hope you check your sugars and
lipid profile regularly
I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
