Bad, Itchy Hives All Over The Body. No Help From Prednisone, Cetrizine, Creams. Have Thyroid. Any Connections?
Hi--I have been getting outbreaks badly of itchy hives all over me --including my fingers & feet..--Been to doctors dermatologists & allergists.---Have been on prednisone---cetirizine -creams-lotions all prescribed by the doctors & I still keep getting them.....I read that if you have a thyroid condition that this can cause hives..---I do have a thyroid problem but am wondering if this can be the problem..---I have been breaking out every day since the first of July of this year to now...Making me very very uncomfortable & the itching is terrible--What can you suggest ?
Yes thyroid problem is one of the important cause of hives,
It can be controlled only when your thyroid hormones are at normal level.
Keep getting blood tests every month and accordingly the levels can be assessed.
Antihistamines are the only drug of choice available now for hives.
In severe cases steroids may be given.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
