Backache, Growth Of Facial Hair, Fatigue, Weight Gain, Borderline Diabetes After Intake Of Wysolone To Treat Sarkoidosis. Normal?

Hello Doc, I am a 51 year old woman, I have been taking Wysolone for 5 months to treat sarkoidosis (20mg for 2 months, 15 mg, 10 mg and 5 mg for one month consecutively)and now though my symptoms of sarkoidosis have reduced but other problems such as back ache, growth of some facial hair on my temple region. and overall fatigue. This is apart from the routine weight gain, rounding of face and borderline diabetes. Is it normal?

hi there,as you are on wysolone for the treatment of sarcoidosis, these complains that you have enlisted are the side effect of the steroid and though not normal but is to be expected when you are taking that drug. As and when you stop the medication the symptoms may revert back, but till such time these will be there and besides taking corrective measures for the same nothing much can be done about it. Take care.
